About Me

As an eco-evolutionary biologist, I am broadly interested in the mechanisms that generate and maintain biodiversity, including how species adapt, persist, and diversify in the face of environmental change. Much of my work centers on classic eco-evolutionary questions: what determines a species’ capacity to adapt, why some lineages diversify while others stagnate, and how these processes play out across space and time. I use mountain systems, paired with disturbances like climate change and wildfire, as a natural laboratory for testing these topics. By combining field ecology, modeling, and evolutionary theory, my work aims to understand how biotic and abiotic factors interact to shape species’ traits, distributions, and evolutionary trajectories, and what the resulting variation reveals about the broader processes influencing biodiversity.
